Acura Ignition Coil

The main goal of the ignition system is to create a high-energy spark that will ignite the fuel and air mixture in the engine's cylinder. This must be done at exactly the right time in order for the engine to operate smoothly and produce the best possible power and output. If the spark timing is off, even by a small fraction of second, the engine will run poorly or worst, will not run at all. The efficiency of the ignition system greatly relies on its working parts and this includes the Acura ignition coil. This is an electrical transformer that contains primary and secondary winding circuits. The low voltage primary circuit operates at a battery voltage of 12 to 14.5 volts and it is responsible for creating a signal to fire the spark plug at a right instant and transmit this signal to the ignition coil.

The Acura ignition coil is the ignition component that converts the 12 volt signal into a high 20,000+ volt charge. It is the heart if the ignition system. When the voltage flows through it, a strong magnetic field is created. When the voltage is shut off, the collapse of this magnetic field to the secondary circuit induces a high voltage that is released through a large terminal which will then be directed to the appropriate spark plug at the right time via the distributor.
